Y-Nats Registration

STEP 1: Eligibility

This eligibility statement was new for the YMCA in 2009 and allows “program members” to be eligible for competition in the YMCA National Swim Competition. It also allows for out of area participants to become “program members” by paying a one-time fee and be “attached” 90 days prior to the meet. Read the statement to verify your status.

Eligibility Statement/FAQ

STEP 2: Y-Member Application

If you are already a “Full Privilege” Sarasota YMCA member OR a local SYSM “Program Member,” you do not need this form.

If you are NOT a Full Privilege Sarasota YMCA member OR a local SYSM Program Member, you need to become a “Program Member” 90 days prior to the meet and pay the YMCA of the USA’s mandated $75.00 fee. Please download the Sarasota Y-Member Application and either email or mail to:

Rick Walker
4532 Ocean Blvd. #102
Sarasota, FL 34242

If you send the form via email, you can include your credit card information on the form. If you would like to send a check instead, please make check out to the Sarasota YMCA and mail to Rick.

IMPORTANT: This form needs to be in Rick’s hands by January 1, 2012 or you will not be able to swim in the meet.

STEP 3: Individual Meet Entry Form

Once you are eligible to swim by completing the steps above, you will need to download the YMCA Individual Meet Entry Form below.

Unlike any other Masters meet, this meet is handled as a team entry. Your completed entry form comes to us with your payment to the Sarasota Family YMCA. Once we receive all entries, we write one check to cover the team’s entry into the meet. Please check over your entry and make sure your payment is correct. This is critical as re-contacting you and resubmitting is not always feasible.

Please consider entering the maximum eight individual events. We love to win this meet and maximizing our points in both individual and relay entries is critical. FTT!

Additionally, please download the SYSM Y-Nats Entry Form below. We will need your times for all four strokes in the 50 and your 100 free time. Please submit flat start times, NOT relay splits. If you do not have current times, please do not guess–have your coach do a time trial in practice. Entries

Entries are due to Coach Walker by February 10. You scan and email them to Rick or mail them to:

4532 Ocean Blvd. #102
Sarasota, Fl 34242

You may pay by check or credit card.

Relays are the MOST FUN part of this meet! We traditionally send 100+ relays off the blocks and always have a great time. Relays are worth DOUBLE points. Please consider making yourself available for ALL relays. FTT!

Relays

It is important for all swimmers to be accountable for the relays they are entered in. Informing me that you do not want to swim your relay causes a ripple effect for many swimmers, not just the other three on your relay. Bottom line … show up and swim fast, it is great fun.

A few more things on the relays … We will have a posting board in our tented area at the pool, there you will find the relay cards that need to be taken to the blocks when it is time to swim. The ANCHOR (that would be the fourth swimmer) for each relay will serve as the CAPTAIN of each relay and it is his/her responsibility to make sure all four swimmers are where they are supposed to be. Prior to relay swims, all swimmers should make themselves available near the team tents.

Psych Sheet [Not yet]

Several weeks before the meet you will be able to view your rankings within your events. This is a great time to get fired up about the meet.

We have three goals at this meet, have fun, swim fast and win a championship. With that in mind, it is not only important that everyone enter as many events as possible, but also to swim the events they are entered in. Please … no scratches!
